Hi, my name is Kenneth Ives. I have been an attorney for almost 40 years. Over that period, I have been in one criminal court or another, practically every day, advocating for those accused of crimes. I have represented more than 15000 people over that span, ranging in severity from minor offenses to homicide. I have supervised and mentored hundreds of lawyers as a supervising attorney in the public defender office. I have extensive experience defending individuals charged with driving while intoxicated, and other driving related charges, larceny, identity theft, sex offenses and gun charges; really, almost every crime imaginable. I have tried over 50 felony cases to verdict, argued in the appellate courts, appeared before judges thousands of times and negotiated with prosecutors almost on a daily basis. I graduated from law school in 1987 and began my career as a public defender in New York City. As a result I have been exposed to everything and I am intimately familiar with the criminal legal system and how it functions. It is part of my DNA that anyone charged with a crime in the United States is innocent until the government can prove guilt. And, even if guilty or found guilty, I believe to the bone that ever person be looked at as an individual and not only be judged by their worst moments or acts. To make the above a reality, a zealous, committed defense attorney is essential. I believe I fit that category. If you suspect you are being investigated for a crime, already charged or think you may be on law enforcement's radar, reach out to me any time. The initial contact is entirely free. I will do my best to give you a sense where you stand so that you can make an educated, informed decision about how to proceed.
